Colourful cupcakes, baked by The Local Village volunteers, were a tasty treat in Oncology recently. Children’s faces lit up on seeing a huge table overflowing with cupcakes that were creatively decorated with lollies, vivid frosting, and animals crafted in icing.
This year the cakes were individually wrapped, in a nod to pandemic precautions, and all were decorated with a gold ribbon to celebrate Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
By baking to make a difference our wonderful volunteers help support our children and their families as we all join together to raise community awareness for childhood cancer and search for a cure.
