World Cancer Day 2021: Joining together to fight cancer

Thursday 4 February 2021 in News from the Cancer Centre

Let's join together to fight cancer is the message of World Cancer Day on 4 February this year. It raises awareness of the need for equality for all people needing cancer treatment and encourages us to join together to help make progress against cancer.

Researchers at the Cancer Centre for Children are raising awareness today on Twitter about their efforts to encourage young researchers to join them in working towards a cure.

Research is the key to understanding and treating cancer and the World Health Organisation highlights the enormous progress made over the two decades that World Cancer Day has been in existance with improved treatments and increased survival rates.

Make a difference by raising awareness, fundraising or donating to help find a cure for cancer. All fundraising efforts, big and small, help change the lives of children with cancer.

Need ideas? Take a look at these tips. There are great ideas for all ages, budgets and time constraints.

Ready to help us work towards beating childhood cancer? Make a difference and donate to The Cancer Centre for Children.
