Kids have spooky fun with Halloween treats

Tuesday 3 November 2020 in News from the Cancer Centre

Spooky spiderwebs and ghastly ghoul decorations turned Oncology into a haunted house on Halloween, but when it came to trick or treat it was the sweeter option that prevailed.

Cupcakes decorated with ghosts, spiders and tiny skeletons had an aura of novelty and were amusing treats for children on a day that turned out to be not so scary, but lots of fun instead. Craft activities included creating ghost masks that could transform children into a Halloween character, and staff were dressed in costumes or accessories that included a bevy of tall witches’ hats.

There were pumpkin orange, ghostly white and midnight black decorations on every surface and, soaking up the atmosphere, children stepped away from their typical hospital day to explore the fun fantasy of Halloween.

Thank you to Kids with Cancer and Kay for their amazing cupcakes that helped make this day special ... and spooky!
