Investigating an important question: Why do children develop cancer?

Tuesday 29 September 2020 in News from the Cancer Centre

Dr Bhavna Padhye and Dr Dianne Sylvester are combining their expertise in the clinic and the lab to investigate why children develop cancer. By analysing blood samples from patients they hope to identify any genetic 'mistakes' that may have contributed to their disease. Including patients in research studies is essential to add to our understanding of childhood cancer and to help improve treatments.

Yesterday, Bhavna and Dianne featured on The Children's Hospital at Westmead's Facebook page for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Visit the page to find out more.

We went gold to raise awareness during September. See us in action in research, in the Treatment Centre and enjoying some creative baking.
