What better way to spend your birthday than surrounded by cuddly farm animals, colourful superheros, and a big bear to cuddle? Makayla turned one on Friday October 18, which happened to be the same day as Radiothon, and when she saw all the action happening around the hospital she responded with big smiles, gleeful squeals and the occasional warm hug like one Bandaged Bear got.

It was a special day for Makayla, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at six months old, but has responded well to treatment and at one year old was enjoying the bright colours and fun atmosphere of the Hollywood themed hospital with her mother, Meagan. 

Birthday celebrations are exciting and it was wonderful that Makayla had so much fun on her special day.
