Amanda: “I wanted to put a smile on people’s faces”

Monday 26 October 2020 in Creative kids

Vibrant pictures in bold colours can be seen in the wards and clinic and they were all created by Amanda, 12, whose sister Olivia, 14, is being treated in the Cancer Centre.

“I wanted to put a smile on people’s faces,” said Amanda, of the art that took her many hours to do.

Siblings are still not permitted to visit their brother or sister in hospital, so Amanda hasn’t been able to see how her art looks on the walls and doors of Oncology. The bright, colourful pictures with intricate patterns are generating a lot of interest though, and she has accomplished her mission of making people smile.

Thank you Amanda for sharing your beautiful art!

We love featuring creativity from children in the Cancer Centre. If you'd like to share your child's art, craft, cooking or special interest you are welcome to contact Jen Grinham to publish it on the website.
